The publication The Guardian has posted the winning photos from Britain’s Nature Photographer of the Year contests. The overall winner of the Nature Photographer of the Year, Roberto Marchegiani portrays the movements of a giraffe in Nakuru National Park, Kenya. The Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Sergey Gorshkov, catches an Amur Tiger hugging a tree in Siberia’s Land of the Leopard National Park.

We are deeply sadddened to hear of the passing of long-standing member John Wazeter, on January 15. Over the many years John was a member, he chaired the group twice, arranged for speakers, and led numerous field trips to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. We extend our deepest condolences to John’s wife, Miriam, his sister Maria Wazeter Robinson, and their extended family.
