The NYC Sierra Club Photography Committee will not have any meetings during July and August. Hopefully most members will have the chance to experience the out-of-doors in some remote location this summer. However, these three unique local exhibits may be of interest if you are spending free time in New York City. Check websites for directions, times and admission fees.
The China Institute (40 Rector Street) is presenting Art of the Mountain: Through the Chinese Photographer’s Lens through August 18.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art (5th Avenue at 83rd St.) will show a new exhibit, Apollo’s Muse: The Moon in the Age of Photography, July 3 – September 22.
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden (Prospect Park at Eastern Parkway) presents Roots by Brian Zeigler through November, 24, 2019, with drawings depicting the complex root systems of edible plants at life-size.
Our next meeting is September 18. Click for more details. Have a great summer!
