Nature from a Painter’s Perspective
Nature photographer David Akoubian was classically trained as a painter before turning to photography. Before venturing out on his own professionally, he studied with John Shaw, Art Wolfe, Galen Rowell, Bryan Peterson and other renowned masters of photography. David creates classic landscapes with a compositional approach he learned from his years of studying painters. He has always enjoyed birding and wildlife and captures many images of wildlife in environmental settings.
David’s work has been published in top photography magazines and books, including Outdoor Photographer, Nature Photographer, Audubon Magazine, Birder’s World, and Scholastic Books. His clients include Coca Cola, Tamron, Sirui, Lensbaby, The Nature Conservancy, and The Mountain Conservation Trust of Georgia.
David and his wife, Evelyn, live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains where they run their business and are involved in many conservation efforts.
