Harriman State Park, NY: Lake Nawahunta

The Fahnestock outing participants, still in search for even richer fall colors, decided to drive south to Harriman State Park. There, they were rewarded with a blazing autumn display around Lake Nawahunta. Yellow everywhere, in the trees, at one’s feet and reflected in the lake. Phragmites marshes beckoned through the woods. The late afternoon light and open air deepened the colors on the hillsides.
