Welcome to the new 2012–2013 season of the NYC Sierra Club Photography Committee. I hope you all had a wonderful summer with your photography! It’s very exciting for us to be in our new home: The Metropolitan Opera Guild Learning Center at Lincoln Center! I want to express our great appreciation to Lacey Upton, Senior Coordinator of Community Engagement, and her associates at the Opera Guild for making our move easy and enjoyable.
In October, we plan to launch a new NYCSCPC website to support our newsletter in between issues. You will be able to use it to find the latest news about our next meeting, future speakers, outings, past and present newsletter PDFs, Sierra Club links, and website links to our previous speakers. In later months, we will develop photo galleries with images from our recent outings and exhibits.
The NYCSC Photography Committee is looking for people who would like to volunteer time and effort to our various pursuits. We need people to write publicity for future events and exhibits, to develop contacts with publications and websites for advance publicity and to maintain content on social Internet media. We also need people who can, on a regular basis, help with projection at meetings, maintain attendance lists, mailing lists and general assistance at events. If you would like to help us, please contact me at cdexter337@aol.com
I look forward to seeing all of you and your latest new photographs on members’ night, September 19, when we meet in our new surroundings! —Charles Dexter, Chair
