A Photographic Pilgrimage into the Spiritual Heart of Asia
Award-winning photographer, author, adventurer, and native New Yorker, Jon Ortner will give a personal presentation about his journeys to the majestic landscapes of the Himalaya and the mystical, spiritual centers of Asia. Jon’s choice of a career as a photographer was inspired by his first journey to the Himalayas when he was 20. He has trekked thousands of miles, many remote and dangerous, across some of the most extreme terrain on earth, to the farthest corners of the Himalayas, India and Southeast Asia.
Jon has contributed stories to GEO, Travel & Leisure, National Geographic, Natural History, Outdoor Photographer and Architectural Digest among others.
He has recently presented at The Rubin Museum of Art, The Explorers Club, The National Parks, the Sierra Club, Audubon Society and other venues.
Jon has now turned his focus on the canyons and deserts of the American Southwest. Signed books will be available. Find out more about this photographer on his website: http://www.ortnerphoto.com.
